SALTS
Project
The project SALTS was founded in 2009 and is run as an association by the founder and curator Samuel Leuenberger and Benedikt Wyss as curator in succession to Elise Lammer. There are also a number of other contributors, including guest curator and artist Cassidy Toner and Xenia Fünfschilling in management. A total of 3 to 5 projects per year and per location will be produced: SALTS will be given an additional location in the green hills of Baselland. Country SALTS in Bennwil (from autumn 2020) offers space for thoughts on nature far from the hustle and bustle of the city of Birsfelden (new: City SALTS, at the river Birs). As a reaction to the acceleration of art production during the previous decade, SALTS now focuses on deceleration and on building of knowledge. The core team is aiming to activate various collectives and networks that will turn SALTS into a place to stay, with a sense for sustainability. Combined with a logic in which the exhibition is not the result of an isolated production period, but part of a co-creative, open process to increase intensity and involvement, the joint curating goes beyond the individual project level. Year-round co-creations with guest curators are planned for the period 2021-2023.Contact
